Well, I must say I had a great birthday. It was actually a birthday weekend. I can't believe l'm 32. It seems like yesterday I was just turning 21 and planning a wedding. Dad was counting up the years until I'm 40 (with great pleasure I might add....that is until I reminded him he would be 62 then.)
Brad coordinated Deardre bringing Drew and the girls to surprise me at school. Drew came running in with flowers (that were bigger than him) and a card Daddy made. It was so cute. Then all he was interested in was the water fountain. Daddy even made sure he was dressed and his hair done just like Momma likes. I guess I've trained him well, huh? I love you, Brad!
Brad usually cooks me dinner. Yes, isn't he great? He makes this dish that he copied from Carrabba's. It is the shrimp, scallop, and pasta dish. Forget what it is called. He went to the store and worked so hard on it. I fed Drew and gave him his bath as he was cooking dinner. I bee bopped through the kitchen several times while he was cooking and grabbed a scallop and ooohhhhed and aaahhhed over the great taste. Brad plated it up and I took a bite. Mmmm...so good. I then took a closer look and quickly thought, "what kind of pepper did he use?" About that time, Brad was staring at his plate with a strange look. I then looked back at mine. No!!!! It couldn't be. We both said bugs about the same time. Evidently, some weevils got into our Old Bay Seasoning. That seasoning was in there FOREVER and I never threw it away. Brad was disappointed and it left us craving the dish even more. So much so, that I got myself up and went to Publix to get more seafood, pasta, and YES new Old Bay! Thank God Publix is only a few minutes away. It was even yummier the second time!!
Oh well, neither of us will forget this birthday dinner!!
