Busy Days

This week has been very busy and fun in our house! This week is birthday week in the Russ family. Mine is on the 20th, Robert's is on the 21st, and Chloe's is on the 23rd. We had cake and ice cream Tuesday night for Robert's birthday. Last night, Chloe had a dinosaur themed slumber party. We, of course, did not slumber!! Boy, those kids were wound up. I hope Amy & Brent got some sleep last night. Drew got right in the middle of all their playing. We got her the requested Darth Vader mask with matching black pants (because Darth Vader only wears black pants per Chloe!). Most of you know Chloe and know that she is not a girly girl. So no dolls or princess stuff for her.

Thursday after school, Mom, myself, Drew, & Raleigh made Halloween sugar cookies. My bright idea!! It was fun, but we were very tired afterwards. At the end, we let the boys go and ice some of the cookies. The spoons and spreaders ended up in their mouths as they tasted the icing, but so did the cookies eventually. They had fun. Raleigh was so excited and wanted to know every little detail of what we were doing.

Finally.....today we headed up to Gainesville with our usual crew for the gator game. Except today, I decided that I would take Drew and go to the mall during the game. I'm glad I did because the game was a blow out 63-5!! I would have been anxious by halftime. Anyway, Drew has hit a growth spurt and has grown out of everything.....shoes, pjs, clothes. I found him quite a bit, but still more to get. He was excited over his new crocs and jibbitz. We found a choo choo, monkey, and a snoopy scarecrow and pumpkin for fall. Tonight, we went to the Oxford Fall Festival. This is the first time in years that I have been. It is mostly for children and well this is the first year Drew could enjoy some things. It was also nice to visit with people that we don't see everyday. We went on a hay ride, fished, and went on a choo choo ride. He kept pointing to the little "train" pulled by a lawn mower converted to a train engine. I finally gave in and got on it with him. Daddy said it was reserved just for me. Drew loved it and I'm glad he did!! A day seeing Drew happy and enjoying life is my idea of a perfect day.

I also have to add that Drew has this new routine with bedtime. I love it!! It is my favorite part of the day. We go in his room, he turns on his floor fan with his toes...so cute...we pick him up and he turns off his nightlight. Put him in bed with his hippie...cover him up. Then we say our night night prayers. As soon as we start saying "in Jesus name", he puts his hand to his mouth and at "amen" we blow a kiss at each other. He then rolls over with a big smile on his face and goes to sleep. It melts my heart every time, even when Daddy tucks him in. He is so sweet and I love my baby boy!!

Had a good time with the boys on Thursday. They really played good together for a change. Had fun with the cookies also. You always loved making cookies when you were growing up. Leslie never did and still don't. She doesn't like to bake but sure makes up for it in the cooking department. You both are great cooks.
Love,
Mom

I am so glad that you had a good busy week. It was so good to spend a little time with you all Friday night. It just melted my heart to see Drew and Wes together. Drew warmed up to him so quick! I am so use to seeing Wes with Addie and I am so excited to see him with his own son! Oh, time cannot go fast enough!
We had a great time at the good ole fall festival last night also. We just like going to see everybody! Some you don't see all year! I can't believe that you went on the hay ride, it would have sure bounced the twins right out of me!!lol
Love you all so much!

Your night time routine is too sweet. I can just picture that precious face blowing you a kiss when he hears in Jesus name. Girl, that makes my heart feel all achy. You are such the good mommy!

loved the pics Jennifer! Drew is a CUTIE! and that night time routine is adorable. You should print out your blog as sort of a "journal" to remember those precious little things!

Hey Jen,
Sounds like you are all doing great! It was nice reading your blog, and catching up on your life.
Glad all is well, with you and yours!

Your Mom has Raleigh, Drew and Hudson currently, correct?? Did I spell those right?? I have a little surprise for her.

And your Grandma, has Samantha, Emily, Brady and Skylar, Bailey, and the three boys correct?? I can not recall Christinas little boys name, nor Bobby and Amys youngest. Can you update me, and correct my spelling please.

Also, Ya-Ya is Pam and Gi-Gi is Mary, right.

LOL What a pest I am, I know.

Brooke is going in to be induced tomorrow, October 30th. She is having a little girl, and will name her Allison! That is quite a special gift to me.

Wishing you all a SCARY Halloween!! Take care Sweet Pea,
Love, Robin/Halo.
