23 week check up

This morning we went to see Dr. Wood for my monthly check up. I was so excited because Leslie was home and she came along with us to catch a glimpse of Cameron on ultrasound. It was unusually busy in there this morning. After the nurse did her thing, they told me Dr. Wood was at the hospital so I hung out in "sub-waiting" for a while. Brad, Drew, and Leslie came back there to keep me company. We waited forever, but it was just one of those things that can't be helped. It was so long that old Dr. Moffett came and got Drew to come back with "Pop-Pop" for some jelly beans.

And yes, that leads me to good old Dr. Moffett, that wasn't the first time I saw him this morning and it wouldn't be the last. For those of you that don't know him, he is very nice and likes to make his rounds to see everyone even if you aren't his "patient". He came and popped his head in while the nurse was doing her thing to say good morning. He wanted to see how my weight curve was looking in my chart. (You know they are freaks about the weight.) Mine was not so good. He gave me a long, intimidating, fatherly lecture about how much weight I should gain and what I need to do to get there. I am eating! I promise! Brad will vouch for me! I told him all of this. He ended up doing my exam because the wait was so long and talked to me some more about it. I talked to him about my shortness of breath and tightness in my stomach when I eat. I did that with Drew as well. So, he told me to eat 10 small meals a day for the next month to see if it helps with those issues and putting on weight. So I guess for the first and only time in my life, I'm praying I can eat more and put on some more weight so the baby will be very healthy and smart! He said I needed fat for IQ. :-)

Overall, the baby sounded and measured perfect today. No ultrasound though. Hannah, hopefully you got that today. I left Hannah in sub-waiting when they called me back. Leslie wasn't able to see Cameron because of the long wait for the ultra-sound room, but was excited to spend some time with Drew. By the way, he has a new name for Leslie. Hotsie. I'm not sure if that's how you spell what he calls her. It is so funny. All morning long if you asked him who she was he would say, "Hotsie". Tonight I was asking him if he had a good time with Hotsie and he would repeated it over and over with this evil laugh. If we only knew what was going on in those little minds. I just can't get enough of my Drew!

I know you are eating. But lets try a cheeseburger and a milkshake! You sure didn't get this problem from your Mom! I love Drew's name for Les! I thought that is what he was calling her on Thursday. I have loved having all of you over to the house for the Holidays. It is now so quiet. I will enjoy it for a few days and then I'll I have to a Drew, Raleigh and Hudson fix!
I guess you need to snack all day like Raleigh likes to, huh!

Raleigh does have the eating thing down to a science. The lessons a 3 year old can teach you. I think my name is spelled "Hotchie". Drew was cute and I loved spending time with him!

How nice to get a lecture about being too small! You've got to love that! Cameron's going to be a big boy, just like his brother. Take care of yourself and good look with the 10 meals a day thing....woah!

Oh, Dr. Al Moffett, you gotta love him! He always cracked me up. Especially when he circumsized Cooper, he had some funny comments that morning! Hotsie, that's cute! I can just hear that little toddler voice trying to pronounce Leslie! Too cute!

Jen, as long as the baby is growing, don't fret! Just try to consume some extra calories, in healthy ways, aka, milkshakes, listen to your Mama!!
Love and prayers,
Robin/Halo.
